Hi, I’m Claire Idera-Nnani. I have always loved art and so I studied architecture and afterwards did a Masters in Fashion Design. I am for the most part a self-taught artist. My paintings combine figurines of elegant yet delicate black women in bright colours and abstract smears of acrylic. I am very passionate about female stories and I also project my personal life in my paintings.
Through the years, I have mainly worked as a freelance fashion designer and illustrator with clients like Lisa Folawiyo, Zashadu, Refashion Africa, Grey Velvet, Hugo Boss amongst many others. I was nominated in The Future Awards Africa 2016, Culture & Arts category which was the first of its kind.
I taught art and fashion in Kingston University, Oxbridge College and currently run my independent design workshop in Lagos.
I am currently working on developing a great body of work in both my art and fashion life.
